Writers Guidelines

PRIVACY STATEMENT: WWIO and it's editors promise to use any personal information obtained from our writers and readers for our use ONLY. We never sell, trade or give away our mailing lists, contact lists of writers or any information obtained through contact with us about WWIO to third parties.

World Wide Information Outlet (WWIO) has become a popular place for web site owners, newsletter editors and others to "pick up" free articles and information for use on their web sites, in e-newsletters, e-zines and even off line in newspapers, magazines and newsletters. We have been reviewed and recommended in several very popular books, newsletters, national and international magazines, on radio and television and on many popular web sites.

WWIO is looking for contributors. If you would like to provide an article we would be interested in talking with you.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to share your expertise in this new way of providing information online and on the World Wide Web called FREEWare Content.

Although WWIO can provide no direct fee for your contribution at this time, we can offer free hosting of your article and free promotion in major search engines.

Here are our simple guidelines.

  1. Articles cannot be an advertisement for you or your business. They must contain valuable content that web users would want to use on their web sites or in their e-newsletters.

  2. You do get a biography at the end of your article for self-promotion. We reserve the right to edit them if we deem them to be excessively long.

  3. Articles for publication should be written in American English, 500 - 2,000 words in length and should be of interest to the general public or individuals interested in specific topics covered on WWIO. These topics include business, technology, favorite things, life, health, hobbies, sports, pets, travel, The Net, religion and more. Longer articles should be separated in two or more parts and submitted as mini-features.

  4. WWIO will not make any major corrections to your article. It is your responsibility to ensure spelling, grammar and punctuation are correct. We will do minor corrections and layout only. Works requiring major revisions will be rejected.

  5. If you are interested in writing a feature column for AUTO Content, please contact us with your idea. AUTO Content columns can be weekly, biweekly or monthly. It's your choice. If the idea is accepted by our editors you must be willing to continue the column for at least twelve installments by providing your first four installments prior to publication and the remainder of the installments for the column weekly thereafter. These articles will be released or highlighted first in our e-newsletter currently going to more than 10,000 subscribers from all over the world. Feature writers may have their photos and/or company logos included on their article page for free. Please send them in .jpg or .gif format to: ideas@certificate.net.

  6. The article must be in good taste. WWIO reserves the right to determine what is "in good taste". WWIO and its editors reserve the right to refuse any information for publication. Personal attacks, hate, bigotry, religious, ethnic and racial intolerance will not be accepted.

  7. You maintain the copyright to your article.

  8. You will receive a byline under the title of your article and a resource box that may include a link to your site and/or e-mail address at the end of your article.

  9. The article you submit will be considered FREEWare Content and may be used by any visitor (who follows the rules) to WWIO's site on their personal or business web site and in their e-newsletters free of charge and without having to ASK your permission directly.

  10. Please let us know IF you want to personally approve requests for use of your articles in traditional print magazines, newspapers, newsletters and others. We get a lot of those. If you do, we will put an e-mail link on all articles stating this so requesters can contact you directly. Otherwise, visitors may use your articles anywhere as long as they adhere to the terms and conditions we set.

  11. You agree that no compensation shall be provided for the use of your article other than the self-promotion for you in your biography as long as the user adheres to our requirements of leaving the author's information, copyright and a notice of where they obtained the article from in their publication. WWIO will do everything it can to ensure this but we cannot guarantee all visitors will follow the rules. Should WWIO find a copy of your article, that obviously came from our site, on an inappropriate site or used improperly, we will request that the offender remove the article immediately. We will notify you so that you may pursue the matter if they do not remove your article.

  12. WWIO will make your article available on our server free of charge to you. Your article will remain on WWIO as long as you allow it. Should you decide that you do not want to be a contributing editor at any time all you have to do is send a notice telling us so. We will remove your articles immediately and notify you when they have been removed.

  13. We will list the pages of WWIO with the major search engines, but do not guarantee placement or that your page will get listed.

  14. You may promote your article on WWIO using any acceptable marketing method on or off line. (Unsolicited E-mail is not an acceptable marketing method and your article(s) will be removed from WWIO if you use this method.)

That's it. If you agree to these guidelines please submit your article online now. [NOTE: Since our database is automated, using our form is the best way to submit your article(s). We usually approve them within 48 hours and have them online within 72 hours. Emailing your article may have a longer review period.] Or you may send it to: ideas@certificate.net and provide us with the following information:

  1. What category you want the article listed under. (If you don't see one that fits, suggest one. We'll probably use it).

  2. A Title for your column.

  3. Your biography.

  4. Your URL and e-mail address.

  5. Up to 20 keywords or phrases that you want us to use in the META TAGS for the search engines that use them.

  6. A 50 word description of your article. Basically a short summary of it.

  7. May visitors use your articles in traditional print media (newspapers, magazine, etc.) without prior approval:
    YES / NO

  8. For a Feature article you may include a photo of yourself in .jpg or .gif format.

  9. If your article is accepted additional information will be required before we can publish your article for legal reasons.
